Adidas Ultraboost Light featuring new Light Boost midsole. The Tech. New and improved Ultraboost Light benefits from 30% lighter Boost material. The Team. We interview Simon Lockett, Footwear Product Marketing Director of Ultraboost, and Anita Bartl, Development Manager for Running Footwear about the development of the shoe.
Back in 2018, Adidas launched a racer called the Adizero Sub 2, a shoe which was designed to help their athletes run a marathon in under 2 hours; this never materialised. The Sub 2 used a new, super lightweight midsole foam called Boost Light. Boost Light had a firm ride but it was insanely light. The Ultraboost 22 is best used at easy speeds (6 min/km, 10 min/mile range) rather than high-speed sessions. There’s just too much bulk on this shoe. The Ultraboost 22 also does ok on the treadmill. On the other hand, the Ultraboost 22 is versatile enough to be an everyday casual-wear sneaker as well as a gym shoe. Depends on your type of running. Nmd for sure is a no but ultra boost varies for me. Don't like it for long runs because it doesn't feel like it has enough support for my feet on the impact. For shorter sprints they feel decent tho. Test out what works for you tho. Definitely don't run in the NMDs tho.
