Now, push and HOLD the sunroof button up (vent position). After about 15-20 seconds, the sunroof will vent. CONTINUE HOLDING THE BUTTON UP. After another couple of seconds, 15 or so (could feel long, but keep holding) , the sunroof will close, the open completely, then close completely.

I ran my errand, and restarted the car. When I restarted the car, the screen came up with the "BMW" start up, it hung there for at least 30 seconds, during which time I could hear the DVD and CD slots being activated. After this it started working correctly except that is was a little sluggish for a couple of minutes. Now it works fine.

This can be done by following the steps below: -Hold the power button down for 70 seconds exactly. (The volume knob is the iDrive power button) -The iDrive screen in the center of the vehicle will turn off and reboot around 25 seconds into the 70 seconds, but keep holding the power button for the entire 70 seconds.
